I am STOKED. I mean, COME ON! A Fortune and Glory sequel, Creation, the archives (KITTY PRYDE!), a Masterclass, a private freaking consultation, and all those goodies?! NO-BRAINER.
HOLY CATS! Would that I were fabulously wealthy and not a broken down, retired 70-year-old on a fixed income who had dreams of becoming a writer, but instead chose to raise a family and write in my spare time, of which there seemed to be never enough. Womp womp... Nonetheless, I am beyond excited to be able to sign up and receive this treasure trove of inspiration for both myself and my wife, who is a better writer than I ever was... Who knows? Mayhaps the tiny spark that burns in my very core will be ignited and roar to life so I might finish all that stuff that sits unfinished for the last 50 years, or even create something new. Thanks, Brian (or as my pal Kelly Sue refers to you, Uncle Brian)!
I have been looking forward to this since you started hinting about it weeks ago. I have been wanting a Fortune and Glory sequel for years. But the best part of the SubStack is “the Masterclass”. What I would have given 25 years ago for something like this.
Question Brian. If we are not in it for the creative side do we just get to chat for 30min on whatever (likely just comics) if we subscribe to the Phenomena level
I tweeted that I am proud to be a Phenomena Level Subscriber.
Anyway, I just reread House of M by yourself and Oliver Coipel, and of all the company wide crossovers from all of the comic book companies ever since Julius Schwartz split the earth into two... House of M is my favorite.
There isn't a conventional villain. Like the original Star Wars trilogy, it becomes a story about a father who went astray and the damage done to his children. But Marvel Comics was built on familial relationships, and House of M recombines those family units in surprising ways.
So many of the vignettes in House of M became classic runs in regular continuity. House of M organically rid Marvel of a lot of dead wood and offered new growth to other creators which they could run with.
As a lifelong comic book reader, I thank you and Coipel for House of M :D
Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute. BENDIS! isn't drawing the Fortune & Glory sequel??? His art was such a big draw for the first one! Who else can draw that round, bald head of his with such lifelike accuracy? 😐
Fuck yeah! This is awesome! Congratulations on getting this off the ground. I’m looking forward to checking all this out in the coming months!
welp, can't argue with that! subscribed!

Lock me in.
I will be reading the Fortune and Glory as it comes out through Substack, but will it eventually become available in print as well?
It would be awesome if you can create a new hero called streetman a cross between batman and the punisher
